A cute children's book about a lion statue. Bopomofo next to the characters --> bit distracting but very easy.

A Taiwanese book of children's fables. Very formulaic and bland stories, no fun. The pictures are nice for adding context though.

Readibu. Against my better judgment I started an Isekai and got bored of it after three chapters. I'm simply not in the mood for longer webnovels this month.

I read Ba Jins selected writings to try and fall asleep. Just powered through it regardless of how much or little I understood.

Readibu short stories. Surprisingly, I notice that the category "relationships" is more difficult to understand than "legends".

More HSK 4 stories on Readibu. Reading on my phone really helps get more reading done, compared to having to sit down with a book or my laptop.

More short stories on Readibu, all HSK 4. I changed the pinyin to bopomofo, that way my eye isn't drawn to it as much but I can still quickly see the pronunciation if necessary.

Three HSK4 short stories on Readibu. They're not super entertaining, but it's ok because they are short. I just don't want to commit to a longer novel this month.

Short story 宮女圖的故事 on Readibu. I used the option to show pinyin over characters; I think using this sort of "training wheels" is fine as long as I also practice without them. The story is a short and predictable read, it's fine.

Finished 当你走进图书馆而书里夹了一枚书签. It's at just the right level for me to do extensive reading and still pick up new words. I'm going to look for another similar webnovel.

A chapter of 去你的二元世界. Nice and easy.

7 pages of 去你的二元世界. This book is a good fit for my skill level, the language is simple because it's mostly people talking about their daily lives, and I can always refer to the English text whenever something is unclear. Reading went well and gave me a little confidence boost today.

Listened to a 2 hour talk about literature. It had a lot of slides with a lot of text on them and I did more reading than listening so I think it counts

Baidu baike article about my hometown. Articles about familiar things are good reading material for me. It went well enough!

Clicked through baidu baike articles on biblical figures. Read most of 約拿 (Jonah) and 所羅門 (Solomon). I grew up on these stories so the articles are easy to follow. The phonetically sinicized names are always a fun challenge to decrypt.

阶级和阶级斗争 from the Chinese Text Sampler. It was ok! Mao's prose is very simple to read once you've got the political vocabulary down. Not very entertaining, but historically significant, so I'm glad I took the time to read it.

Gave the Chinese Text Sampler another go, this time starting from the easiest rated texts. Read the list of street signs (not to the end though, very boring) and the story 曹衝稱象. The story was fun and easy.

The Baidubaike article on 財神. I read most of that article and overflew a bunch of related articles, as you do.
It went ok! For most paragraphs I had to read them twice but got the meaning on the second read. I used the translator plugin for unfamiliar words and occasionally for unclear sentences.

The Advocate by Loa Ho on the Chinese Text Sampler. I got through about halfway, that's around 3000 characters in 30 minutes. I didn't understand much of it though... I know all the characters so I can read it out loud but then I don't know what I just read. I think I'll stick with easier prose for now.

8 pages of 去你的二元世界, a book by a collective of genderqueer and nonbinary people in Taiwan. The book is bilingual; I look at the English text occasionally when I'm not sure whether I understand something correctly. I am mostly satisfied with my reading comprehension but unsatisfied with my reading speed.
