It went well. Some challenge because the story was in traditional, and I focus on simplified.

Started a new Mandarin Companion book, 150-word level. I'm glad I'm not trying to jump to higher-level books. I'll read through each one at thus level, then start at the next.

Finished Mandarin Companion. Smooth read. Going to start new book tomorrow. Have to resist urge to pick a harder book. This level is still good for me as I establish a reaold9ng habit.

I read two stories generated by ChatGPT. I asked for two similar stories about a child's day at school. It went pretty well. After reading in characters, I asked for a pinyin version, which cleared up some minor confusions. As a final check, I asked for an English version, which cleared up one or two words I didn't know but got the gist of from context.

Another day, another chapter. I noticed, as I tried to read aloud, how stilted my reading was. Not fluid at all. I know reading aloud is its own challenge, but it was remarkable how much more fluid it is in my head. :)

Read another chapter of the Mandarin Companion book The Misadventures of Zhou Haisheng. It went pretty smoothly. We'll see how it goes when I try harder reading, but I won't rush it.

I read the first chapter of the Mandarin Companion book "The Misadventures of Zhou Haisheng. This was super easy, since it's well below my level. I'm trying to do some extensive reading as I try to build a reading habit.

On the one hand, I didn't even reach my modest 5 hour goal. On the other, I have never read this mich this consistently before. So I'm calling this challenge a win!
