TeaTime Chinese: Goodbye Grandpa Yuan

I listened to a DaShu Mandarin podcast at full speed and then at 80% speed. It was interesting to note that while I could pick up some words here and there I didn’t really follow the conversation. But when I looked at the transcript, I could figure out a lot more. It was interesting just to listen to three different speakers from three different areas speaking without trying to dumb anything down or moderate their speech or anything and see how much you can pick up.

ChinesePod lesson about looking up characters in a dictionary. Although Upper-Intermediate I was able to get a surface idea at first, then after listening to their discussion and reviewing the dialogue it became much clearer. Reading was easier to understand than listening, though — definitely! ☺️

Listened to more chapters in Du Chinese’s exciting Three Kingdoms Battle of Xuzhou!

Listened to Da Peng explain direction words. Interesting!

ChinesePod intermediate; 1 episode of MaoMi Chinese

Listened to TeaTime Chinese episode about Simplified Characters. Very interesting. He speaks a lot more slowly in his earlier episodes (of which this is one). However, his content is good and his transcript has the pop-up definitions so that’s really helpful.

Listened to and read transcript of DuChinese piece on the song Friends.

1 episode of MaoMi Chinese, 1 of TeaTime Chinese and 2 of Chinese Pod intermediate.

Listened through a couple times to MaoMi Chinese episode on the homeless in China. Also read through parts of transcript.

Listened to MaoMi podcast 1.25x, then several chapters of DuChinese story “Three Kingdoms 2: Battle of Xu Zhou.” I had to look up a fair bit (15%?) of vocabulary in both of them, especially the MaoMi podcast.

Listened and relistened while reading the transcript for an episode of MaoMi Chinese.

Listened to DuChinese story The Three Kingdoms, end of part 1 and beginning of part 2. Slowed it to 75%, listened a couple of times, then went back and read the text, looking up some words in Pleco.

I listened to the 5-minute Chinese with DaPeng podcast a couple times through, and then spent way too much time looking at different potential podcasts to listen to (instead of just listening!)
