Reading lesson and work on ch 1 JttWest. I read each para on my own, then listen to it with the audio, while reading and shadowing. I like the approach. It helps me immediately iron out any pronunciation issue. My teacher was great too, we di much the same thing, but with her live inputs. I love my teachers.

Reading a serialized novel being written by a MBP language learner. Being pitched to an intermediate level audience, and both well written and we'll conceived in terms of the needs of intermediate readers. Will post on the MBP discussion group. But now I need food.

early morning monkeying around with a waterfall... journey tt West. I am delighted how my pronunciation is coming alive as I read aloud, and then I repeat the pinyin paragraph, which comes after with meticuous attention to the forming of each sound as my young broadcaster tutor is hammering into me. I was, like dragging the chain a bit about this whole reading thiing- but not it is an exciting pronunciation training, free of the heat of actually conversing with someone and feeling too excited/ strung up. Awesome.

JttWest ch 1 first listen and read along. Survived. Accidently read most at 1.2 speed, definitely got more out of normal speed.

My goal for the Challenge is to read every day, no missed days. Hopefully discover new reading material.
A am not a strong reader. I listen before I read. I do notice that is getting easier, but that I am really uncomfortable when reading any unsupported text.
I want to read Journey to the West, as I have been listening to it a LOT, but I do not think I can buy the files in a form I can easily use them on an old Chromebook that Google will not let download apps, via a free website like Mandarin Spot.
