Anki reviews. I know I'm not going to reach my goal of thirty hours this month due to holidays and spending time with family, but that's ok. I've learned so much new vocabulary this month already and my reading comprehension has definitely improved. I look forward to continuing practicing my reading, as well as lowering my new card limit on Anki to my daily average of six or seven new words a day. I had increased to 20 new words a day and while doable, it was difficult and I quickly ran out of words I frequently came across. I'm sure as my reading comprehension improves I will be able to find more frequently used but unknown to me words.

Anki reviews. I can already tell increasing my new card limit is helping my reading comprehension. I tried reading a chapter from a book of Chinese stories and I was able to understand much more than I did when I first bought the book.

hi Jo, yes the JttW graded readers from Imagin8 press. I think it is cheaper direct from them. I have to bung this comment here as the website is not allowing me to respond to your question post. I started out listening to the first JTTW recording many times during down times mostly. To start with I could barely understand a word. After passively and actively absorbing the listening (a lot of times) I could understand pretty much every word, aND it seemed to have slowed down a lot. After that prep the reading was pretty easy.

Various activities: anki reviews and spent some time breaking down vocabulary into single characters and studying their individual meanings. Since I've increased my new card limit on Anki I can tell the time it takes to go through them is increasing, but I think I'm managing the increased load well. These are all words I've already come across in my studies so I'm sure that helps.

I think for the duration of this challenge I'm going to increase the number of new cards I study on Anki every day. I have lots of vocab that I learned from the graded readers I read last month that I would like to solidify in my memory!
