What exactly are you doing when you are chorusing ?

Hi Metellus, I pick a sentence, preferably from a movie or video of a native speaker, copy it into an audio recording and editing application (I use Audacity, which is free), and copy it 50times, with 2sec inbetween. Then I load this audio file (with the 50 repetitions of the sentence) on my phone and chorus, usually while I drive), i.e. try to say it parallel to the speaker. Since they speak at natural speed and I am an HSK3 level learner, it usually takes chorusing the file a few times to get it right. Then I test myself by using voice-to-text in a translator or -, even better - in Audacity. It takes about 30min if I do it correctly for a sentence. Today I chorused 因为时间紧迫不得不这样安排 I needed about 400 reps to keep up with the native speaker and get my tones right 😅
