Looking at some of the corrections I've made, I can see that ideally these bidirectional translation exercises would be performed under the guidance of a tutor. However, they're probably still 90% effective even without one.

This month I'll be applying the bidirectional translation method to a set of 40 basic Korean dialogues as an extension of the Grand Listening Cycle – after transcribing and studying each dialogue, before moving them over to the "reviewing" playlist, I will translate them into English, check my translation against the one supplied in the textbook, and the following day translate the dialogue back into Korean, again checking the text afterwards and noting any areas of difference.

Today I translated the first dialogue into English and made notes with reference to the supplied translation, which probably took me about 20 minutes all up.
