Chinese Learn Online level 4, lesson 181. Listened again. Checked with transcript and translation. Surprised how much I had missed. This is a very comprehensive website for learning and reinforcing what you have learned. www.chineselearnonline.com

Listened again to a uni of iowa intermediate audio. Got it this time. Experimented with lower levels 3 and 4 of Chinese Learning Online. Level 3 has a lot of English but useful vocabulary. Level 4 has very little English and suits me.

Chinese Learn Online CLO: level 5 first lesson. Could understand 80% but couldn't keep concentration for full 6 minutes. Will try level 4 next to build listening skills from vocab that I know.

Fluentu: watched 2 videos without reading subtitles. Too fast for me. Couldn't hear many words. When I read the text some sentences were easy and I should have been able to hear them. So I went back to a song clip I had looked at before and sang along. Will try more songs in future.

slow chinese: 157 版权问题. Interesting topic although could only understand the main idea at first. Very useful phrases to learn so I will review this several times.

popup chinese: intermediate Slacking Off. I love popup chinese for learning authentic language. It helps with listening for detail and also it's good to practice listening to short bursts of fast speech.

Fluentu: review vocabulary. To make this a listening exercise I listen to the clips with my eyes closed before I do the vocab test. For me this is much harder than reading the sentence and guessing the word.
