I suggest you use wordswing to learn characters and words, it counts both, time and characters/words

I second Birgit's suggestion. She suggested it to me during one of the reading challenges and I found it to be a really useful sight for learning and practicing vocabulary in a gaming context. It was sort of addicting once I got into it. Give it a swing!

You spent 10 hours studying 10 words? Wow!

No not really, but they only allow me to put in a time entry. I want to track the number of words I've learned, not how much time I spent. So when I put in my goal of 40 words, it registered as 40 hours.
