Finished “the nose” and “teacher is a Martian”

Weekend total.

Thursday and Friday totals. Just about done with “Teacher is a Martian”. Reading is getting a little bit faster as I learn to trust my memory more without double checking with the pinyin. Still learning to not constantly compare my reading level in Chinese with my level in Spanish. Two different beasts!

Should finish the story this weekend, then will finish “The Nose” on DuChinese. Next Mandarin Companion is “Emma” or “The Sixty Year Dream”. Or both. I did see that there’s a similar “Journey to the center of the earth” on MC which was one of my favorite classics growing up, so adding that to long term reading goals.

Mandarin companion (breakthrough: Teacher is a Martian): chapters 3-5
5 minutes DuChinese on elementary and it looks like they added more newbie stories recently. Few minutes reading sample chapters of some Level 1 companion books to see which to get next. Seems like 30 minutes at a time is my limit for reading non-english materials for now before my brain shuts down.

15 pseudo-intensive. Pseudo because it was mainly trying to recognize “handwritten” font in a paperback form (只有貓奴才懂的事. Definitely need to start adding things with different font types just to get comfortable...15 on DuChinese going through the quick stories. Didn’t want to get into anything too long as today was limited time.
