Started reading the 7th chapter, reading about the hat. It's more difficult, because there are some special words for ghosts and so on.

I've finished the 6th chapter to the end. The children arrived at Hogwards. Today is the last day of the challenge. My conclusions: 1) I like reading in chinese and I can read novels, translated from other languages. It's better if I've already read it in my native language 2) I like reading for a long time. Just dive into reading. So I have no chance to do it every day. An hour of reading of chinese novel a day is an impossible goal. 3) This challenge was for Harry Potter only. And I've read 6 chapters. Not much, but better than nothing. But I read much more in chinese every day: I read almost every story in DuChinese, because they don't take much time, it's convinient to check the translation and most of them are interesting (fo example, the yesterday's about the moon). I read textbooks and stories, while preparing for lessons with my students. I read messages from my Chinese friends. 4) I don't know, if such reading of Harry Potter was useful or not. I don't know many words. It was not a probem for reading: I simply can miss them or guess the meaning, but I hardly can implement something from this book to my real life: I simply don't know pinyin, so I can't use the words, just get the meaning. It frustrates me a bit and I think, if I need to take simplier texts and to look up the words in the dictionary. I'm grateful to this challenge, because I started reading and I didn't give up.

At the middle of the 6th chapter. Harry is on the train, the train is leaving. I understand almost everything, but sometimes I'm not sure, how to pronounce some words. Today I liked 红发家族.

At the middle of the 4th chapter of Harry Potter. I don't translate the names of the books and the authors. It's very tricky. 今天我学会了:“施魔法”和“恶魔”,还有“魔法大臣”。

At the middle of the forth chapter of Harry Potter. New words: 巨人,巫师。I'm interested in 提鼻涕,but there were almost no examples in baidu, so I'm going to ask my chinese friend, if I can use 提 with 鼻涕 or not.

I've finished the third chapter of the book. I've noticed that I pay attention to the newly learnt words (for example, taday in the children's game 变身小动物 I heard 吱吱吱 (mice say) and 嘎嘎嘎 (ducks say). And today while reading I paid attention to ”嘎嘎嘎的声音“ 和 “嘎吱嘎吱的声音”,looked carefully at the characters.

I finished the first chapter of 哈利波特与魔法石。There were some new words, but I didn't check all of them, because could understand the meaning. It's very much of help, that I read this book in my mother tongue, because I know the names and the facts.

I started reading “哈利波特与魔法石头‘ from the very beginning. I've never read it before. I like it! I didn't finish the first chapter, because looked up some new words and characters in the dictionary. There were some expressions, which I knew from Little Fox Cartoons Level 1 about Dino Buddies (比如:卡在..., 眨眼,发抖 等等)。真有趣!

这本书难不难?我在学习HSK四级。我能不能阅读哈利波特?

我觉得,你可以试试看!如果太难的话,过了一会儿再试一试。
