I feel like I'm relatively decent at copying after my tutor says something,
but butcher the pronunciaiton the first time I say things.

Catching up on the backlog of flashcards from the weekend, didn't have time to finish everything.

Got me some reading aloud /w feedback,
Got me some pronunciation /w feedback while discussing the text.
Stupid 4th tone keeps evading my attempts to consistently get it right.

I always feel I stop actually pronouncing the tones while speaking, especially if I'm focusing on what I'm saying and not how I'm saying it. Though my teacher rarely misunderstands me. But then again, it's the teacher's job to understand what I'm saying no matter how badly I butcher the pronunciation, so it's not a clean experiment.
