So far I learned a lot of words about expressing deep appreciation of objects.

Read aloud the story 海上和床上 found at http://chinesereadingpractice.com/2020/06/25/short-story-on-the-sea-and-in-bed/ -- this story was a bit above my level. While speaking, I wrote down the pinyin for those words that were hard to pronounce (either by my own admission, or because my language partner made a comment). After reading it, I tried to say sentences that involved the words I didn't understand or pronounce well. This went above my expectations!

My language partner asked me questions in Chinese for 90 minutes of which I estimate spending about half of the time answering, since I also spent time listening, repeating the questions and thinking about what to say. Most productive language exchange so far with two small monologues, one about why I like Chinese, and one about my new soy milk machine.
