Read parts 34-43 of 火锅家族, but today my comprehension seemed to be a little less. There was quite a bit of vocab I didnt know, but since Im reading this extensively, I didnt focus on that too much. One cool thing I learned was the phrase: 两全其美, which means to appease/satisfy both sides, or to have the best of both worlds (aka, to have your cake and eat it, too!)

Finished chapter 4 of 骆驼祥子， started Chapter 5

Finished Chapter 4 of 骆驼祥子 today! Learned 体面= dignity/face/credibility, 合不来= to be incompatible, 命令 to order/command。

Read parts 30-34 of 火锅家族, realized that 咋 means how, and 不 can be used at the end of a sentence in which the speaker is seeking some kind of agreement, so it can replace 吗, for example, 漂亮吗？， 漂亮不？

Read part 23-30 of 火锅家族， #27 and 28 had me laughing out loud! I also learned a few new words such as; 手艺=craftsmanship, 水灵= fresh/juicy (for fruits) and vivacious and beautiful ( to describe a persons appearance).
I also learned that 大一(的时候） refers to Freshman year of college, whereas 大二， 大三 refers to year 2 and year 3.

Finished chapter 2 of 骆驼祥子 and started 第三章！The main character, an orphan boy working as a rickshaw in 1920s Beijing (then 北平）certainly endures some hardships.

Read part 19-22 of 火锅家族， these ones today were particularly funny!! I definitely recommend giving it a read. I even learned a few new words and phrases such as; 表白= confess, 如意= unsatisfactory, not to your liking, a funny phrase ( 人丑认命）= ugly, accept fate , 持久= lasting/enduring and 平均= average.

Finished reading Chapter 3 and started chapter 4 of 骆驼祥子！
