This is a neat video that introduces Chinese characters to complete beginners. It's not a substitute for a real lecture on how characters work, but this is still the best introduction I have seen so far of this length. It covers most of the important aspects, but doesn't really go into much details, especially about phonetic components. Overall a great video, though!
